Hello,

I have a dilma.
I can buy for the same price a new single Gygabite GTX 980 TI G1 or form a friend his used EVGA GTX 980 FTW Dual SLI.

My CPU is I7 4790K @ 4.6Ghz and i have a DELL 2713HM 1440p 60HZ monitor.
My PSU is Seasonic 850X (850W).

It's been some time since i had SLI so i don't know how bad are the stuttering/artifacts this days on the 900 serias.
Also i don't 100% sure if my CPU could bottleneck or not.

So any thoughts on the matter?

Thank you:)

Hi UdPeejon,

1) Your CPU won't bottleneck either of those setups, it's a very powerful CPU.

2) There still are issues with FPS stuttering and screen tearing with SLI builds. I would choose the new 980ti hands down, at 1440p it will crush any game you throw at it.

3) You have a great high quality PSU, you won't have to worry about power no matter what you choose.

Your cpu will not bottleneck for sure your psu can handle it and sli is not bad on the 900 series i would still go for the single card its using less power and you have more upgradebility
on 1440p 60hz the gtx 980 sli is overkill anyway ;)

thank you all for quick response.

I have this dilema because i'm always looking to upgrade and i know for sure that even if i do not think about it now, i could find my self replacing to 4K or a high Hz 1440p monitor.
Then i could add another 980TI or buy the 1000 series or what ever they gonna call it.
I know i wont get a 100% straight answer but i could get some sense od direction thank fore you guys.
