After many fine suggestions I have revised my build 3 times now. I have everything ready to buy but the motherboard.

This is my part list.

What I'm buying now:
Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard= IDK
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Seagate 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB SSC ACX 2.0+ Video Card
DEEPCOOL KENDOMEN Red
EVGA 220-G2-0650-Y1 80 PLUS GOLD 650 W

What I'm buying later (when i get the money)
Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer
Better CPU cooler (since i have OCing abilities now.)

I just need a motherboard.
Which should i get:
GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI Z97 GAMING 5 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Fatal1ty Z97X Killer ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0) ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Please help!!!!

Solution
On Intel builds Asus tends to pay more attention to the BIOS (and keep them up to date) also their QC is top notch, I've built a number of Z87 and Z97 client rigs rigs and have had best luck with Asus as far as OCing and stability with a large variety of other components. The Hero is my favored mobo, the Z97-A is probably #2, only two on the Pro Gamer but both turned out very good and the clients are thrilled with it ;)

In suggesting a board can you please include why. Also i'm getting the drive for like 60 dollars and getting a free game with it. I plan on getting a SSD in the near future. For now that can wait. Crucial RAM is like 4 dollars less than the RAM i have now. but the RAM i have now matches the red color scheme where as crucial does not. does crucial perform better?

I won't build on MSI, poor QC, but the Fatality Killer is a good mobo are the GB mobos. If strictly between them, look and see if any one of them has a feature you want/need and eliminate the ones that don't have it. If it would fit in the budget I'd go with the Asus Z97-A or their Pro Gamer

HEllo, thank you for your suggestions.
The PSU is fully modular.
I could consider the
ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
why would you choose this board over the ones i suggested?

I really value your input (most people just offer random products with no justification). I'm really trying to stay with the red color scheme (so the pro-gamer) and I actually was going to go with a ASUS hero board, however it is out of my price range. There is a certified refurbished one on newegg. Should i go with this?

And that color matched RAM will be the same color you get back when you send it in for RMA. Picking computer components by color often results in a pretty piece of trouble.

I appreciate your concern. This RAM has been recommended to me before and I have newegg premier so if it is RMA I will get to return it for free. I completely agree about selecting components by color however I did do my research. If the RAM does fail, you will be the first person I contact.
Thank you for your input.

I have received RMA RAM back from "certain" companies that show scratches and other marks that suggest the part is used. Only to plug the part in and find it works until it soaks a while and then it fails. This strongly suggest to me that they are getting failed parts back, doing a quick test on them, and returning them to unsuspecting customers. I have experienced this type of customer support to the point I've thrown their product into the garbage and purchased a "different" brand - my time is just not worth the trouble of putting up with cheap customer service. I wish you the best of luck my friend, here's hoping your experience is different than mine.

Wow that sucks, I do hope my experience is different. This is actually my first build so even if something is RMA, At least I'll learn the whole process and stuff from it. Again thank you, if something goes wrong with this RAM, Ill PM you about suggestions, provided that is alright with you.
