I'm new to forums and I need help. I don't have much knowledge on computers so please dumb it down or simplify it in anyway you can. Basically after 6 - 15 minutes of use ( I haven't really taken the time to time how long it takes) it either freezes and stays that way or freezes and the whole computer shuts down. When it freezes the keyboard has no control over it, the cursor is frozen as well. about a month ago before it started to completely freeze I got notifications that my graphics card crashes and recovers and eventually it stopped giving notifications. I am a PC gamer and I usually spend a lot of time on my PC. So I don't know if it's a component in the tower or if it's a virus or anything that's affected it. My computers mostly only used for gaming, drawing with graphics tablets, and just basic hermit uses. I'd appreciate any help or suggested problems or solutions. Also, I play games like Garry's Mod, Left for Dead 2, CS:GO. I don't think those games are too intense on the graphics card or anything And I'm on windows 8. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Solution
Try this. Install ddu and select nvidia. Then select clean and shutdown (for new graphics card). Take the gpu out of the pci slot and make sure it's clean. Place it back in and boot the pc. Go to nvidia's website and make sure you download a fresh set of the latest drivers available. Then install. Should be working now.
