Xfx 7970 high temps (97) on stress tool (Furmark)

i have xfx 7970 ghost edition, i am quite satisfied with performance in everygame, i play BF4 on ultra setting and temp never went above 80, gta 5 temp remains under 80 and same with Arkham Knight.

But today i ran furmark stress tool and within 2 minutes temp went to 97 and i got worried and closed furmark. is it normal ? should i worry about it?

Furmark basically hammers your GPU until it reaches its thermal limit. What you experienced is pretty normal. I wouldn't recommend that you make a habit of subjecting your GPU to that sort of abuse. Especially with AMD GPUs, firmark will stress the GPU much more than any game can.
