I'm trying to upgrade my CPU, I need to get a 3rd gen CPU. I'm planning on getting an i5 but they are out of stock everywhere and I found one refurbished on amazon. Is it safe to get a refurbished CPU. Would they last?

Solution
Since CPU's are not repairable, I would assume it was probably bought and returned for some reason, or damaged box so they can't sell as new. They check if its working and box it back up and go. I used to work for a consumer electronics company that did the same. If a box was damaged and we reboxed, can't sell as new. That said CPU's are VERY sensitive so I would still be wary of it.
