Alright, here we go. My dream build. I'm a broke college kid, so my dreams aren't all too impressive.

I already have the power supply laying around. The hard drives are in my current computer. My plan is to basically switch the hard drives into the new computer and use everything as I would normally.
So, the question: are there any problems with that? Particularly with windows. I bought my computer with windows 8 installed and did the upgrade to 10. The product key is in the firmware, yes? So, if I sold my computer, would the copy of windows go to them as well, leaving my with an illegal copy?

Here's my current computer. I plan on selling it minus the hard drive and windows for $330, or minus the hard drive with windows for maybe $410. I don't think it will be hard to do at that price.
I'll make the purchase at least by early December. I may be able to afford to by early-mid November as well.
I based most of my decisions off of reviews here. I'm mostly wondering about synergy, I guess? Maybe a different ram frequency would work better in this particular scenario, or a similar processor, or maybe the case isn't the best choice for what I have.
I've never really built a computer. I'm just assuming everything I need will come with the parts.

Did I miss any details? Just ask.
Thanks a lot!

The current pc is an OEM and windows is tied to the hardware in that pc.
When you upgraded to win10, it created a keyfromt he existing key and hardware which is now stored on Microsoft's servers.
Win10 will detect the change soon after you upgrade and will be asking you for a new key. I beleive it gives you 30 days.

moral of the story; Plan on buying a new copy of windows.

Exactly what I needed!! Thanks a ton, man.

Anybody see any problems with what I've got for hardware? I guess I'm just nervous. First build and all, and it's a lot of money for me..
