Really high temps on fx 8320

Hi, i just got new cpu fx 8320 and mobo gygabyte 990xy-ud3. I have 51 degrees cels. in bios. I have already tried reapplying the thermal paste 2x so far and its still the same. Is there anything else I can do before i go and buy new cooler ?

Does the heatsink feels hot when you touch it ? if yes, then you need a new cooler.

If no then your monitoring software does not read the right value

Yep its hot

but shouldnt the fan that comes with it be good enough to just do simple things without heating so much ?

The FX stock heatsink is to poor to cool the 8320.

212 EVO is way better than stock , or if you can find the Cryorig H7 it's even better.

For the price, You can't really go wrong with the hyper 212 evo. I got mine for around $25.00. I have my 8320 overclocked to 4.3GHZ and within stable temperatures during prime 95 burn-in and other torture tests like IBT.

Just quick update

I got 212 evo about 1 week ago and temps have fallen to 12-20c in idle. This is incredible lol.
