Look to build a programming/gaming PC

Approximate Purchase Date: this week (the closer the better)

Budget Range: (ALREADY HAVE SAMSUNG 850 EVO 500GB), Would like to spend around $700 or $800 for CPU, MB, RAM, SSD, GPU, PSU, DVD drive, CASE, MONITOR and a CHAIR.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: programming/gaming (being about to run 2 or 3 VMs and having multiple pdfs, browsers, cmd prompts ope. Also being able to game full screen on 1920x1080 on 1 monitor and multitasking on the other)

Are you buying a monitor: Yes (Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor) ~ 250.00 on amazon

Do you need to buy OS: No? I was thinking about taking the Windows 8.1/10 from my laptop and putting it into this PC and putting Xubuntu on my laptop? Is this possible?

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon, Newegg, etc

Location: South Dakota (no tax on Amazon but not sure about the rest)

Parts Preferences: going with Intel processor and as long as parts are good quality for the rest of the parts

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: Currently have a BenQ 27'' 1920x1080 and want the ASUS 248QE for the dual monitor and FPS gaming with the 144hz (CS:GO)

Additional Comments: Case doesnt need much bling. Looking for something to easily manage cables since I am a noob and this is temporary/going to my little brothers in the future)

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Need a temporary PC (for a couple months) to do some programming and gaming on the side

Mostly need help with choosing the right Motherboard, Case and Power Supply.

This is a partial build of what I've come up with so far. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Also any advice on a comfortable chair would be awesome! (would love the armrests to be adjustable)

Ok. CPU: I7 6700 cost: 300$ or a i7 2600 cost: 300 too. But can increase the performace alot. RAM: corsair vengeance 2x4GB ram speed: 1600mhz. Cost:35$ GPU: GTX 970 or 960. Cost: around 300$ PSU: corsair 600w psu Cost: 100-200$ DVD drive is not a must so use ur old. If you buy a new it wont change anything. Case: whatever you want. If your budget holds (ur getting a high-end pc :) chair: IDK what to buy. Just buy whats fits in.

Yeah I don't care about getting more fps but would it let me run more programs at a time? I plan to be using VMs and other IDE's in order to program while having browsers open. If not then yeah I'll probably just stick to 8GB of ram.

Also for the PSU is there any that you can recommend?
