Will my CPU support these graphics cards ?

My Specs are-

Intel Core i3 540 3.06Ghz
4GB RAM DDR3
Nvidia Geforce GT 610 2GB

Graphics cards I want-

Nvidia GTX 750ti
Nvidia GTX 960

or even Nvidia GT 730

The link you posted didn't really give information about your motherboard, that's for the CPU.

I don't recall seeing any 1156 socket board not supporting a PCI-E card though, so it should be good

Yest the gpu's will be compatible but the gtx 750 ti is the max I would go... (even that gpu will limit the performance because of your old i3).
In conclusion, I suggest you to save for a new system but if you want more gpu performance now buy a gtx 750 ti.

Yeah both are ok.

I would go for the 750 ti as it is, but if you overclock your CPU then a GTX 950 would be better.

I used to have a i3 540 in my htpc, they overclock very well, giving a significant boost to performance in games. 4Ghz+ is possible with a budget CPU cooler.

So if I go with GTX 750 ti will I be able to play games like AC Unity , Witcher 3, etc with medium settings on 1366x768 - 1920x1080 resolution without any problem.

Try to get at least a haswell chip. It would be really hard to find 1st and 2nd gen chips right now, and they arent really that much cheaper than their modern counterparts

Oh... That wouldnt really be possible since 2nd gen chips use 1155 sockets, while yours use 1156. You really need to upgrade the motherboard if you want to upgrade the cpu

An i5 760/ i7 860 would be good value for money if you can find one on the used market like ebay.
