between the two, which would be the best overclocker in a gaming build? i know the asus has 8+2 power phases, but the msi is listed as having 12! are these 12 real, or 6 doubled? the price is like 15 euro more for the msi...
other features dont matter too much like usb 3 and sata ports as i plan to run just 1hdd and 1ssd and i believe both have the same number of fan headers so its just down to overclokability
i plan to put a water cooled i7 4790k in the build

Solution
I'd go the Asus Pro Gamer, great mobo in line with their ROG mobos. As far as MSI, I won't build on them due to their poor QC (quality control)

yes i have heard about msi poor qc, but the msi board is ranked higher than the asus on tom's mobo tier list hence why i was asking.
both look stunning and the msi would go with my gpu better, but thats much of a muchness

aah ok then. i suppose the asus pro gamer is better bang for buck than the ROG boards, with regards to overclocking?
as a side note i have also had my eye on the asus z97-ar, would that be in line with the pro gamer regarding getting high stable overclocks?
