planning on getting a fangbook for 1,150 with gtx 970m 8gb ram forgot the speed but its like 1866 or maybe higher. Has a 1 tb hard drive but im planning on paying a little more for a hybrid drive. Should I upgrade the ram to 16 gb on this latop. Im planning on playing mostly skyrim, smite but it would be nice if I could play gta v, witcher 3, and batman arkham knight on high settings. Does it make sense to get more than 8gb ram if im just playing games, doing homwork in microsoft word and watching movies/youtube videos (not all at the same time). From what I read more ram isn't necessary as long as its not all being used up. I plan on modding and I have a 280x in my desktop so im guessing this laptop will be almost as strong as that except in my desktop at home the processor bottlenecks the 280x but I still get between 40-60 fps most of the time. This laptop has i7 5700hq processor so it most likely wont be bottlenecked so it will probably be just as good as my 280x with less stutters especially since skyrim favors nvidia gpu's and so does enb from what I've read on forums etc. Also will I be able to play fallout 4 possibly modded with this ? Sorry for this long paragraph but I wanted to give as much information as possible.

Personally, I would say go 16gb. The rate of improvement in cards and ram is jut too fast.over the last decade I have skimped too much on component and learnt this lesson the hard way. You won't regret getting the faster setup if you can squeeze out the extra cash. Good luck
