My CPU suddenly started overheating one day, I tried new thermal paste and the issue carried on, I was using a corsair h40 water cooling unit, I then tried with the stock fan for my AMD FX8150 8 core, I then purchased an arctic freezer pro 7. All 3 are still giving me high temps as soon as anything starts using the CPUs, I've purchased a new case and motherboard and I still have the same issue, is my CPU fucked?

case airflow wouldn't be an issue with water cooler.

What software are you using to check temp? Any overclocking?

Check BIOS, AMDOverDrive, and SpeedFan.

Airflow matters if his vrms are overheating.

Of course, but he is specifically speaking of his CPU and not vrm, which was one of reasons why I asked if its overclocked. If it is not, then the vrm should be any issue.

Which brings me to another question, what is your mobo?
