Well, this is annoying.
After purchasing new RAM for a family member's PC I discovered that it didn't get past the initial acer screen once installed, it just did nothing. I anxiously tested the old RAM again just to check that it wasn't an issue with the motherboard or any other component and fortunately it had booted as normal.
I double checked that the RAM I had just purchased was compatible - No problems there.
I decided to use just one RAM card and see if it was a case of an old mobo not being able to handle 8GB - it got past the acer screen but wouldn't boot up Windows.
I've run out of ideas as to what the problem may be.
To clarify, I'm replacing 3GB with 2x4GB of RAM inside a fairly old Acer desktop.
Please, please, please help me out here!
