Blue screen when playing video games and BCCode: 116.

Im having an issue when playing some video games and rarely when watching videos like anime, my computer will stop whatever im doing, the screen will go black, then the blue screen will pop up before my computer restarts. this is the error im recieving;

Any help to stop this issue would be very nice. if you want any additional information about my computer, reply down below, Thanks.

*note: I've tried to uninstall my graphic card driver and reinstall it, and that does not resolve the
issue.

I actually had the error message change recently to this;

BCCode: 116 points towards graphic settings if memory serves me right.

After a crash open up bluescreenviewer, it automatically scans your MiniDump folder and display all crash details in the upper pane.Simply click on the error as shown in the following picture :http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/bluescreenview2.gif
then post the stop code you get here for more assistance. Example; 0xaa49d9de is the stop code in that screenshot.This should point us towards the culprit causing the Bsod.

Ok, I looked and the viewer said that the driver that caused several blue screens was; dxgkrnl.sys. I found that the driver is for a nvidia graphics card but my new on is AMD sapphire radeon r9 270x, but on my old computer (where I transferred my HDD from, it had a nvidia graphics card... should I delete the driver?

Saw your issue already.. Download and use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), run it in Safe made (Shift+Restart for Win10). Completely delete any driver that you have in there. Run CCleaners Registry cleaner. Then, restart one more time--- Run Admin most recent Driver that you have.

If that doesn't fix the issue. I'd say, download the most recent DirectX from their site--- I think it's DX10. Just overwrite what you have already--- Only do this after you've reinstalled your drivers.

I tried using ddu and reinstalling the drivers but that didnt work and I have the latest version of DX but neither have solved the issue. I find this issue is mainly happening when Im playing "Life Is Strange." The game will not respond, then after a few minutes the blue screen will happen and have the dxgkrnl.sys issue.

Hmmm, That's gotta be a driver issue of some sort. I was playing Life is Strange for around 2-3 hrs over the weekend, no issue.

Have you tried cleaning it deeply before re-installing the driver?

I just tried to replay the game but it stopped responding the nI had to go to task manager to end it, but right after it exited me to desktop after it crashed, it said in a little window that "AMD graphics car driver has stopped responding but recovered." I dont know if that will help

Boot into safe mode first then run ddu,it really does sound like a driver conflict to me.Life is Strange is not a very demanding game by any means

I seem to be having an issue with atikmpag.sys or .sy_ , may be the root of the issue at hand.
Im looking around and all of the fixes say to use expand.exe but when i do use that it said "atikmpag.sy_ could not be opened" or something like that

motherbaord driver was version 2005 but updated to 2103... telll you if it fixed the isuue. and life is strange is legit

seems to have fixed the issue, completed life is strange without any bsod but my computer seems slower ._.

Good to hear it's stopped the bsod's, sounds to me as though some bios setting's wee what was causing you the bsod's likely an unstable oc perhaps..When you udated the bios it reset all bios settings to default values.
