AMD APU Help

I know that an AMD APU can combine with Radeon dedicated graphics cards and be even more powerful, can an APU combine with ANY Radeon card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.2492000 My friend is thinking about getting this build and putting something like a 270X or a 280X or a 380 in it, would that work?

Dual graphics with an apu only works with certain cards and it's usually the lower end cards.

also no dual graphics only work with gpus up to the r7 250x. Get the build I suggested

The Athlon X4 860k is essentially an A10-7850K without the GPU, is there something like that for the A10-7870K?

No there's not but the 860k is a strong enough cpu to run current games at high settings. also the psu in that bundle from newegg is shaddy

Great list with two issues. Get a A88x mobo for OC that 860k. The 860k will need some overclocking to soften the bottleneck with a 290. Second, replace the PSU with this one. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1750snlb9

A 500w PSU isn't enough to power a r9 290, particularly when 500w is made by HEC. The XFX 750w will power the 290 and have a little room for overclocking your cpu.

I agree with benjiwenji the evga isn't good to begin with and is just asking for probkems with a power hungry 290. The 860k will bottleneck even when overclocked, as with other amd cpus it has rather lackluster single threaded performance.

I'm not sure what you are smoking, but a stock 290x can pull close to 300w by itself. Once you add the rest of the system it's going to be around ~450w even a good 450w psu would probably shutdown under load and a lower quality 500w psu is probably just going to flat fail.
