Internet speed issues with my TWC

Hey there! Yesterday, i applied for a 100 mbps internet speed @ time warner cable. But after their setup im just getting 8 to 12 mbps @ speedtest. Its a $122 bundle plan they offered. Im in doubt of the speed im getting because in my friends apartment, im getting 70 to 80 mbps at speedtest and were paying the same price. What do you think? Thanks

Yes, as stated above, plug directly into the modem, and retest the Speedtest speeds. Also, which modem do you have? Some of the older modems cannot handle the faster speeds if they are not DOCSIS 3.0 spec with enough channels.

I plugged my laptop in the modem and im getting 79 mbps :) but isnt 8-12 mbps too slow for wifi? the modem im using is ARRIS TG1672G
