Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade to a new Skylake system, however I am stuck on a major component of the build. The motherboard.
I was looking mainly at the Asus ROG Maxiumus VIII Hero, The ASROCK OC formula, the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7. I do plan to do overclocking (not heavily) and am unsure on which board will provide the best reliability and stability. Other recommendations are welcome as well.

However, I am hesitant on the ROG board due to the reviews of it being very buggy and unstable out of the box, with some even saying it was difficult to even get the new BIOS to flash. The ASROCK has good features and has good reviews, albeit the color scheme doesn't match well, but I am more concerned with performance over aesthetics. And I know very little about the gigabyte board and others I have not mentioned.

Thanks for your help. I am looking forward to your replies. :wahoo:

The ASUS Z170-A ATX will be enough for your mild overclocking needs and perform just as well as the boards mentioned above. The noticeable difference while gaming or anything else would be minuscule and not worth paying the extra money when instead that extra money could go towards a better CPU cooler, GPU, and power supply.

Thanks, however I looked at the ASUS z170-A and while I will be using it for gaming, I am looking to push an i5-6600k to close to +/- 4.4ghz as well provide myself some future proofing. With the single m2 port, low amount of SATA ports (I will need 6 atleast to pull all my hdds over and to add my new SSD), and lackluster powerphase design, I have counted out that ASUS board, considering better models are very similar in price.

Thats what I was personally leaning towards (can you believe it just took a price jump from $219 10 minutes ago on newegg?!). However, since I will not be making my purchase until the weekend, it will provide time for other answers from the motherboard masters to roll in. I really appreciate your input.
