Recently I bought a Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 250 Low Profile 1Gb DDR5 to upgrade the Nvidia GT 720 in my prebuilt Acer Aspire XC-705 also newly bought. After install the new GPU, there is no display on the monitor even bios is not accessible. The system seems to be running and the GPU fan is running. I had tried another power supply with 550watt still the same. I had also tried to install the GPU on a 4 year old Dell PC and it display without any problem. I been trying alot solution from this forum to no extend... Is there anything else to try?

PS: when the new amd gpu is installed, even connecting vga to the onboard gpu result in black screen, only when the new gpu is removed the display works.

Solution
see if the vendor dropped a bios update for your pc. if there none if your parts are local bring the pc to the shop your buying parts and see if another 250 will work. if not i would refund and try a nvidia card as the older 700 card still works.

it could be a problem with your PCI express slot version.

i bought a sapphire radeon 5450 card for my old 2005 emachines PC, and it turned out to be incompatible because the card version was PCI-e 2.1, my emachines had a PCI-E 1.0 slot. PCI-e 2.1 does not work with the 1.0 slots

so i bought a PCI-e 3.0 gigabyte geforce 210 card, and it worked perfectly with my emachines since PCI-e 3.0 and 2.0 are backwards compatible with 1.0
