Hi Community,

I'm looking for a new video card for my HTPC. It's a A10 7870K and up till now I used the APU internal R7 graphics to play games and to watch video streams.
(About everything from Jump&Runs like Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams to games that need higher performance like Battlefield 4)

I play the games at 1080p (TV resolution) and the APU internal graphics card is managing that feed only up to a certain point and so I always have to turn down the quality settings, to get decent framerates in the more GPU hungry titles.

The big problem I have, is that the PC sits in a very narrow space unter my TV and so i had to choose a slim HTPC-Case (Silverstone ML-03b). It only has support for Low-Profile extension cards (dual slot is no problem).

So I'm looking for a dedicated GPU that fit's in a low-profile case, that offers low noise generation during things like streaming (I'm very picky with noise). I would like at least about PS4 like performance (1080p@30fps in modern games with decent quality settings)

Until now I found a low-profile GTX750Ti from Gigabyte and one from KFA^2, that I think would offer enough performance, but they both have very small fans and so I think they will be too noisy for a HTPC. Does anybody has experience with low-profile video cards and could offer me some advise about the cards i already found or some other options.

THX

Model number is N750TI-2GD5TLP. Stock is not looking good right now though. Bh photo actually says they have it arriving in December on backorder which isn't good. You might have to scrounge a bit for one.

As for noise I don't notice it. However the case fans on my HTPC are probably what would be considered loud so they migt be masking some of the noise.

You already picked the best low profile card available. As for manufacturer, MSI also make a low profile 750ti. It has dual fans and I would say it's about as silent as can be. I have one in my HTPC currently.

Do you have a URL to the MSI Card? Which one of these are you using, and how is the noise while watching videos and other low performance demanding tasks?

Thx for the help, i'll take a look at the msi card and see if i can get one in germany. A card with 2 fans is normally a little less noisy that one with only one so i think it's my best bet to go with this one.
