Okay so I recently bought an EVGA GTX 970 B-stock refurbished about 3 months ago. Thing is I can only play some games for a certain amount of time and then my monitor will black out. For instance, the other day I tried playing witcher 3 and only got to play for about 40 minutes. Then my monitor went black but I could still hear the game going on in the background and I could even pause it. So I shut it down, restarted and tried loading the game again. This time it only let me play for about 5 mins and then monitor went black, pc froze up, and motherboard (990fx) started beeping (1 long beep 3 short beeps) and showed solid red VGA LED, another shutdown. I thought it might be the GPU overheating or maybe using too much memory so I windowed the game so I could see task manager memory in background and put up an on screen display (OSD) on the game to see CPU usage and GPU temps. The third time I tried it I got to play for about 2 mins max. The memory went up to 6.2/7.9, CPU usage was 86% and GPU temp was at 63C. Same thing happens when I try to play Metro Redux but I was able to complete Batman AK (a month ago) with no cough ups. Also, evaluated my Watts using watt calc and it came out to 475W(OC) on max load. Sent an RMA to EVGA for replacement and they told me to test card on another PC which I don’t have, or test another card. I used to have a Radeon r9 280 before the 970 and It never did anything like this. Don’t know the issue please help

that code means bad ram, run memtest86

that or test playing a game with a single stick one at a time
