What should I upgrade next?

Need help deciding on what to upgrade next, got approximately £280/$430 to spend.

The system is mainly used for gaming, social media and studying for an IT degree which involves mostly programming, so nothing too intensive on the studying part.

The obvious choice looks like a new CPU/Mobo, most likely i5-6600k and a relatively cheap Z170 board, although I'm not too sure about using DDR3 on Z170 or how Win 10's activation deals with these new components.

Second idea was new headphones but I would ideally want to use them for games and talking, and from what I've heard, most if not all gaming headsets seem to have negative connotations.

CPU: A10-6800k @ 4.9
Cooler: Corsair H80i
Mobo: MSI A88x G41 PC Mate
GPU: XFX R9 280
Memory: 8GB Hyperx Fury 1866 4GBx2
Storage 1: WD Green 2TB
Storage 2: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB (OS + most frequent programs)
PSU: XFX 500B 500W (Will upgrade this soon but not yet)

Any ideas or help are will be greatly appreciated!

I don't know of any Z170 boards that have DDR3. If you don't want to get new RAM, even a Z97 and i5 4690k would be a nice upgrade. But, if it was me, I'd keep the CPU and motherboard and either upgrade the GPU to something like a 390 or even 390x with your budget. Your system as it is is pretty decent for the tasks you use it for but a 390 or 390x would take gaming to another level. It is too bad your motherboard doesn't support Crossfiring another 280 because that would be the best bang for your buck upgrade.

Regarding Win 10, you might have to contact Microsoft if you don't have a Win 10 Key (if you had an OEM copy of Win 7/8 and did the free upgrade to 10) if you upgrade your motherboard and CPU since Windows will see it as a new...

If you have a key, I believe even if it is a Win 7/8 key, you should be fine.
