Moving windows 10 to an SSD from an HDD

I currently am trying to repair my grandfather's computer, whose hard drive was on its way out. I backed up all his personal files on a drive so those are out of the question.

He installed windows 10 on top of windows 7. I'll be honest I'm not 100% sure how I did it, but I used Acronis True Image to clone the hard drive and install it on the new 2TB drive he bought and windows loads. But I want the operating system(currently the only thing on the new drive) to be moved to the SSD. I am not experienced in partitions and such language because my experienced is in building PCs from scratch not modifying them.

I just installed my OS to my SSD in my personal computer, then put the HDD in later, so I've never had this problem.

To sum it up, I have a hard drive, 2TB, with nothing but windows 10 on it, and an SSD currently with the same operating system on it, but it won't load to the SSD for some reason(ideas?). How do I get the OS to the SSD so I can reload all his pictures etc. to the HDD and move on with this.

Thank you ahead of time for any help or expertise you can provide :)

2 options, cloning or fresh install on the SSD. Either will work.
The Acronis Trueimage you used before will clone directly from the HDD to the SSD.
Or Easus Todo, Macrium Reflect, Casper...all will work.

However:

How did the OS get on the SSD? Which OS?

It does not, and that is what confuses me... It worked when I cloned the HDDs but not the HDD to the SSD

I recently upgraded my older Kingston ssd to a new Samsung Evo,using Samsungs data migration software and iit literally consisted of two mouse clicks and took about 6 to 7 minutes in total, easiest migration experience I have ever had. Will naturally take longer for HDD ->SSD .After that I just used samsungs software to optimize the drive.

Thank you very much for your help and ideas. For all, this was the best choice seeing that windows 10 is free for a year and that he would have to upgrade anyway. Hope this helps someone else too!
