Hello everyone !

First of all, here is my config :

Windows 8.1 64
CPU : Intel Core i5-4460 (3.2 GHz)
RAM : 8 go ddr3
GPU : 4095 MoNVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
MOBO : HP 2B36 (socket LGA1150, so it's compatible)

Recently i've been trying to stream some CS:GO, but the max I could have was 720p@60fps, but with a bitrate of only 2500 kbs to avoid my ingame fps going lower than 100. And I still had some. So the result was (this being a FPS so very fast game) kinda disappointing with a lot of aliasing and a poor gameplay from me

so my questions are : Is it the maximum I can reach with my CPU ? If so, is the upgrade to i7-4790K a good idea and would it allow me to stream 720@60 with 3500 kbs in bitrate ? Also I would like to stream on Overwatch which is a FPS going out very soon, do you think that would be enough ?

Finally do I need a new ventilator or a bios upgrade ?

Thanks everyone for your time, ask me anything if needed.

Hey,

Alright, you should see quite a noticeable difference in terms of your streaming capabilities but these go down to both your internet speed and your upload speed.

A jump from the i5 4460 to the i7-4790k would be a good investment. With the 4790k you even have over clocking capabilities for future-proofing!

Now with the streaming, I wouldn't stream at that bitrate personally. You would be better off streaming at 720p @ 2600-2700 bitrate, the bitrate will fluctuate within 2600 and 3000 but should be stable at 3000. The reason for this is because in the world today, not that many people have access to high speed other otherwise speeds of which the people in the western would take privilege of.

There are countries where internet speeds are very slow even at the highest packages because of the counties location and mostly the weather and pricing of being able to get the cables routed for high speed internet.

People will come to your stream and not be able to watch it because their internet is really bad, this is one of the most common stream mistakes. Setting the stream's bitrate to an appropriate level that will allow for all or the majority of viewers to view the stream lag free, stutter free, disconnect free...

It's important that you follow that rule if you want to get viewers and keep viewers!

Streaming at 1080p isn't needed, 720p is enough, it's a live stream. People shouldn't expect 1080p live-streaming.. Comeon!

But yeah, the 4790k upgrade would affect you in all aspects, giving you better fps in games, allowing you stream better due to the extra juice that your system is packing, it's a worth while upgrade and I would definitely recommend it without doubt or hesitation.
