Should I upgrade my CPU or my GPU?

How good is the FX-6300? I know it sounds too good with the 6 cores and stuff, but I know that the performance is not really that great. I currently have an i3-530 with a GTX550Ti, and I want to upgrade my GPU. I know if I upgrade my gpu to something like a GTX 960 which I considered, it will be bottlenecked. So I wanted to know if I should either upgrade my mobo with a new CPU (i don't really have that much money), or buy a new GPU and buy the CPU later. Which would get me the better performance on games like CSGO that is actually CPU intensive? Would an AMD FX-6300 bottleneck a GTX 960? Or maybe, what I am saying is non sense and someone can tell me. Any help is appreciated

At the moment, I would not look at an AMD solution. It has no future. New chips are coming soon and I hope that they close some of the gap to Intel.

For CS:GO you need powerful cores, so even an i3 4170 would do a good job.

You may need to replace your OS too.

Excuse me?
First he can buy the fx-6300 and replace it at a crucial moment
Second an i3 will run cs-go, but the amd cpu will run it better
And finally A BIOSTAR MOTHERBOARD??
Do you know how bad the quality of biostar motherboards is???

The review here said http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/biostar-hi-fi-b85s3-motherboard,4273.html other Biostar boards may be sketchy, but this is not one of them.

The OP has Intel, so will need a decent motherboard and cooler.
