Should I buy all my parts at once?

Hi,

I am on a tight budget. I am building a PC for general use but will probably do some gaming later. Should I:

Buy a Core i3 4160, a Z97p D3, psu and case (basically all the parts)

Or just buy a Core i5 and a Z97p D3?

Unless you are getting a great deal with bundled parts you will probably get the BEST deals if you wait until the individual components go on sale. If you are in the U.S. I'd strongly suggest waiting until Black Friday to do your budget component shopping.

If you don't buy all the components pretty close together time-wise, you risk the chance of not being able to return something if it doesn't work when you finally get around to building. The return window will have closed. You will have to deal with the manufacturer's RMA policy.
