My video card died, how do I get my computer to recognize a new card?

I'm running an HP p6620f desktop. Came home from work and found a black screen on my monitor. After checking the connections, I plugged the DVI cable into my laptop and the monitor worked fine. I assume my graphics card is shot. Purchased an inexpensive GeForce GT 610 video card, inserted into the PCI-E slot, and turned the computer back on. Still black screen on the monitor. Any suggestions? I'm wondering if I need to go into the BIOS or something to change the default? Kind of hard to do with no display. Thanks.

Yes, the current GPU is integrated into the motherboard. And nope, I don't see the BIOS screen or anything else. Completely black when I turn on the computer.

Can the power supply be part of the issue? The computer is rated for 250W and the minimum requirement on the new card is 300W. The sales guy at MicroCenter said that it would probably work (at least short term). I can replace the PSU, but was hoping to keep it simple for the moment by just installing the new GPU.
