Hey everyone!
I've been seeing a lot of new processors and various odds and ends coming out these days. I'm wondering if I should upgrade my CPU - or if it'd be necessary with games like The Witcher 3 and other highly graphic intensive games? I've had this processor for about 4 years now.
My current build:
CPU: i7 3770k OC'd at 4.1
MOBO: ASUS Z77-V Pro
Memory: 2x 8gb DDR3 2133 RAM
Graphics: 2x G1 Gaming GTX 970 - SLI
Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 450D ATX Mid-tower
PSU: 850W
I was thinking ahead and I have two options. My main goal is to be future proof with the Motherboard and CPU.
1.) Upgrade CPU to LGA 1150 chipset, which would require a new motherboard. I don't know how long it would last me.
2.) Upgrade CPU to the newest of the new (Skylake), which would require a new MOBO that only supports DDR4 Ram, which means I'd need to get more RAM on top of it. Unless motherboards that are DDR4 compatible can also use DDR3, then I could wait to upgrade that.
I guess I just don't know what "ideal" CPU's are these days in terms of gaming and audio production. Anyone have any thoughts?
Let's say that budget isn't an issue.
