Where to find heat spreader tape or pads ?

I do not see where one can buy locally or online the necessary double sided heat tape/pads and what the thickness is etc... and possibly the heat spreader will contain RFI or keep lightning generated EMP from damaging the ram ?

Correct after ddr2 unless you are overclocking the ram as high as possible the heat spreaders on ddr 3 do almost nothing but add to the look of the ram and price. On ddr2 and below they actual had an effect on temp. Not sure with ddr4 yet as these have some high clocks, but its probably close to ddr 3 in effectl.

Heat spreaders on DDR3 do one thing. They look pretty.

don't forget may interfere with the cpu cooler if too tall or overhangs the memory slot [lol] I seen some I mistaking thought was a afro pick from the 70's

thing is if lighting hit just right it gets something some how regardless my buddy seems to have the worse luck it gets him hard no matter what he does to help prevent it . just treats him extra bad

If what is said is true why not simply use silicon rubber dabbed onto the chips fixing the chips to the heat spreaders you would have to do one side at a time allowing 24 hours of drying time each half yet it would be a very solid and cheaper alternative for fastening down the spreaders. However, I do wonder about thermal expansion and putting stresses on the connections to the memory chips. The spreaders may not expand at the same rate as the DIMM board.
