I do understand that It's not the best, but I am really tight on money, and I am planning on buying a GPU, but what I want to know is the Q9400 good for gaming? I am planning on to by GTX 750ti. Thanks.

CPU - Q9400
MainBoard - DQ35JO
RAM - DDR 2

Thanks - Reece

I'd say no. It's far too old. Ideally, you'd want to find something like an Intel Core I3/I5 processor and a recent socket motherboard, like a socket 1155 motherboard (but no older). Of course, you'd also need RAM for the new motherboard as well.

Given your restrictions (and I am by no means saying you should buy this), I'd probably recommend something like the following:

Motherboard: ASUS P8H61-M
Processor: Intel Core I3-2100
RAM: Geil Enhance Corsa 8gb (2X4) module ddr3 PC3-10660

That took about 10 minutes of searching on UK EBay. If you look a bit harder, you may be able to come up with a better option.
