Hello,

My computer randomly will shut off after being on for any amount of time, could be two hours could be two days. Then it wont turn back on until i've let it sit for an hour or so. And when I mean it wont turn on, I mean it wont give me any response from the power button on the case or the motherboard at all.

To turn it on, sometimes it will get stuck on the BIOS screen "Gigabyte" etc, and i'll have to reset, then try again by entering the BIOS, quitting BIOS, and then it will boot up.

I flashed the BIOS, nothing.

I ran a stress tester and checked the temps via coretemp as well as GPU-Z, and it was all working properly for a while. No problems.

I'm not sure what the issue is. it could possibly be related to the uniqueness of the system.

OS: Windows 7
CPU: Intel 4770
GPU: EVGA Classified GTX770
RAM: 16GB (2X8GB) G.Skill Trident
SSD: 240gb Intel

Now the not-so-common setup parts

Seasonic gold 1050w power supply

As well as 15 SATA devices excluding the SSD, 16 including.

1 SSD
1 DVD Drive
14 HDD's for a total of about 60TB of storage.

This system was running fine for about 2 years until this issue started to happen.

PS: I've cleaned the entire system out, re-pasted the CPU, and cleaned everything, still have my intermittent working problem.

Thanks in advance!

I had a very similar problem a few weeks ago and it turned out that there was a problem with my power supply which consequently wiped out my motherboard and CPU as well. I am not entirely sure where your problem lies, but I thought I would share a similar experience I had and what the problem was for me back then. The only thing I can be fairly certain of is that it is a problem with your hardware. I would recommend testing each component starting with the power supply, then the motherboard, then the CPU to see where the problem lies for you. Since you are still able to boot sometimes, I don't think it is a problem with your CPU but more likely either your power supply or your motherboard.
