As title says, for some reason after changing login settings (since the PC was automatically signing in the wrong user) and changing my account to local, I've noticed I lost every admin right.

When looking to Users in Control Panel, my account has been set to Guest (lol?) which I'm quite sure I did not vouch for.

Meanwhile I can barely do anything than just browsing the internet and play some games. Can't use nor access CorsairLink, CPU-Z, most Control Panel settings, Computer Management and more.. It requires me to enter a Smart Card (wtf?) instead of entering admin password.

It says "enter admin password and click Yes" but the problem is I can't click Yes anywhere nor put in a password. It says "Enter a Smart Card"

I tried to do recovery but it doesn't let me since you need Admin rights to run RecoveryDrive.exe.

I tried Safe Mode but couldn't make another user nor give Admin rights to excisting user (reason: Safe mode admin was the only admin on the PC, there needs to be another user with same rights before safe mode admin can give admin rights to other accounts)

I tried to make a new Medium for clean install through microsoft website but it doesn't let me since you need Admin Rights to put the medium onto your USB.

I can't even change my USB into a FAT32 because you also need admin rights for that.

I do not own the CD/DVD with Windows 8 on it.

Basically I'm stuck. Can't Clean Install nor give me right..

Solution
I fixed it! :)

What you need to do is:

1. Make your Local Account a Live Account again (connected to a Microsoft email address you have used before for example; @hotmail.com)
2. Can be done by pressing Window Key + S, search for "login settings" > Your Account tab > Connect to Microsoft/Live Account (should be top option)
3. Turn this on, make sure your account is now Live enabled and no longer Local!
4. Go into Safe Mode boot by Shift + click Restart (the normal Restart button in W8, found when hovering over right down corner > Settings > On/Off > Restart (this is the Restart you Shift+click on)
5. This will bring you to a blue screen with options: take Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup > Restart
6. This will restart your PC...

1st. Yesterday changed my account to a Local Account (Windows 8 by default makes u log in as @hotmail.com, connected with OneDrive). I noticed my CPU was getting to 100% sometimes as was my SSD where my OS is running on. I decided to make it a local account to see any difference (did got a bit better but sometimes CPU still hits 100%)

2nd. Today I couldnt log in as it was trying to log in as a different user, so had to press Switch User all the time to gain access to my Local Account login screen.

That's about it, really..

I have a feeling I lost my rights when changing into a Local Account, as it was making a new account for my PC to use. Not sure, though..

5. This will bring you to a blue screen with options: take Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup > Restart
6. This will restart your PC and bring you other choices, take Safe Mode with networking (F5)
7. Automatically, the Safe Mode will log on with your administrator. So you have admin powers inside safe mode.
8. Press the window-key + S and search for "netplwiz" > Enter
9. You'll have a small window now and a check option. Normally this will be unchecked when u see it, since that is causing the problem. Now check that box so meaning the account needs to enter a password to log in
10. After you've done step 9, stay inside the same window and press on Properties of each user you see (should be HomeUsers, Admin and 2 x your live account) and add them to the admin group and press OK
11. Just restart now and enjoy your admin-powers :)

NOITCE: The problem lies that you cannot be administrator on a LOCAL ACOOUNT + PASSWORD LOGIN DISABLED at the same time, this will make you lose your rights and change into Guest!!!!

I'm glad I was able to fix this after hours and hours of trying, now I learned something! :D I saw alot of ppl with same problem so I took the time to put every step on here! :)
