This guy is the pc guy from hell. He upgrades my CPU and now reinstalled Windows 8 after ugrading to 10 withought my consent.

I just got my PC back home and the HDD is not showing up after updating windows and all my programs are gone This guy really screwed me for 100$. Can anyone walk me through setting my my HDD I checked all cables. i checked the sata cables and power cables, the device managment is showing 2 blank drives and the ssd is there but it is not called ssd,

So chances are you lost all your programs.. Sounds like he did a complete reinstall and wiped all existing data. Do you know if Windows is on the SSD or the Hard Drive? You may be able to recover some files depending on what exactly he did. Most likely you will have to reinstall all you programs ect.. Anyways what exactly do you have for a computer? So in Windows Explorer does it show both the hard drive and the SSD but they are blank except for the new windows installation?

■ yah windows is on the SSD for sure even though it is not labeled as such under disk management. I can tell because the size is 120g and my HDD that is not showing up is 500 gb HDD worth of movies and such! DO you need and specs?

So the hard drive shows up and show that is it basically empty? If so try Recuva. You will want to have it search for all files and then select the hard drive where the data was and then select "Deep Scan" Here is the link to the progam. BTW I had to use this 2 days ago for a friend..

I am a noob. Last night the HDD was there and we had to plug in a power cord to it. But now after windows 8 reinstall the hdd is not there.

Have you looked in disk management to see the status of the drive? It might just be offline/not initialized, or has not been assigned a drive letter in the new OS.
