Hey all, just looking for some opinions and to share my findings. So I recently did a build for a friend.
i5 6600k
Msi krait z170
16gb patriot 2400mhz
Evga ssc 970
Evga 600b psu
Corsair h105 cooler
Nzxt noctis 450 case
Samsung evo 850 250gb
Win 8.1

All and all a well rounded solid gaming setup. He asked me to OC the system so I did. Gpu did well but the CPU is doing some very strange stuff. I have it at 4.4ghz with a fixed voltage of 1.27v. It passed a few hours of prime95 maxing out at 55c. Now the weird stuff. Under load with intel burn test, after only 2 minutes the clocks dropped to stock and the voltage dropped. Same with occt even though the temps were below 60c at max. I've heard of vdroop but never actually dealt with it on any of my systems. This board also doesn't have a LLC setting within the bios. Is this just due to the motherboard sucking? Or am I missing something? Ratio is set to 44, base clock at 100, CPU voltage set to fixed mode. Any ideas? Either this is due to the motherboard being poor or I'm missing something. Any input would be great thanks!

Thread might be finished and solved, but I would like to clarify that the krait board actually is a decent board. I have a 5ghz 6600K on it. so it doesn't overclock well? it clearly does for me.
