Hello,
I am needing to run 2 monitors and mirror monitor #1 with a 60" HD TV via HDMI. My graphics card is a MSI-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550Ti that will run 2 monitors only. When attempting to run the TV via HDMI slot with the 2 monitors the system replies that the card will only support 2 monitors.
My question... can I simply add an additional graphics card to the system for the TV and mirror monitor #1?

My system:
Windows 7
AMD FX-6100 Six-Core Processor
MB-ASUS-M5-A99X
MSI-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550Ti
8 GB Ram

Thanks for the assist!!!!
Mark

yes you can simply add an additional GPU to the system to gain access to another monitor out (i've done it before, its strait forward). another option if you can afford it, Nvidia's newer GPU's support upwards of 4 displays per card. a modest price of 150 USD will nab you a new GPU that will run circles around a GTX 550ti.

Thank you for the replies! I will go with a card to run the TV as this should give me the most versatile option. I use the system for photo editing and viewing for my clients and I think this should give me the means to run a slide show at the side if I care to.

Hi,
I took your advice and got another video card to run my tv having 2 monitors on a N550GTX. The new card is a PNY GeForce GT 610.
I hooked it all up but the computer did not recognize the TV. Tried to install the driver via CD but installation failed. Tried installing the driver via download, but it still failed. Can you help me out to fix this?
Thanks,
Mark

hum, have you tried running the computer with just the GT 610 to check if the GPU works?

if it works in that situation, then we need to check a few things and perhaps mess with some stuff. there's a few possibility's on why this is happening. below are just some things you could try.

1: be sure both GPU's are supported by the same driver. if any one is not, then the drier will not work.
2: check the BIOS settings. perhaps something's set wrong.
3: try completely uninstalling and reinstalling your GPU drivers. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
4: change PCIe slots for the secondary GPU.
5: reset the CMOS if your BIOS are not to difficult to set back up right.
