Hello all,

I want to build a pc for gaming. I have a 1080x1920 monitor. I want to get the most out of games like dayz or arma 3 (thats why i chose the i7 4970k at 4.0 GHZ as it CPU intensive apparently).

Here are a list of my parts. The cost on pc case gear (im from australia) is close to $2000. Im fine with paying that, but do you guys know if im going overkill, or on what parts i could save some bucks? (Keep in mind that i want to keep the i7 core and GTX 970) so other than that, how can i save some money? i havent researched the ram or the motherboard much.

CPU: Intel Core i7-4970K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core Processor LGA 1150
CPU Cooler: Raijintek Themis Black CPU Cooler
Motherboard: MSI Z97-Gaming 5 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury HX318C10FBK2/8 8GB (2x4GB) Black
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO Series 250GB 2.5in SSD
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4GB
Case: Corsair Carbide 200R Compact ATX Case
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 Gold 750W Power Supply
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB 24x DVDRW OEM
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 32/64-bit Retail DVD
Wireless connector: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless N PCIe Adaptor (do i need it?)

Could someone also double check me with compatibility? Cheers

Solution
Only thing I would change is the OS. why not just buy Windows 10? If you ask me it's way better than Windows 8.

This way you won't have to buy it later on when you want to take advantage of Direct X 12 games.

Everything else looks fine.

Buy a windows 7 CD key from Amazon for cheap then upgrade straight away to windows 10 via an online download upgrade file. Its totally legit and the download is on Microsofts website.

Oh okay, so you get windows 10 when you get windows 7?

I do not recommend doing this. the 'free' upgrade is only a tempoary upgrade. you will still have to buy Windows 10 when your one year 'free' trial expires.
