pc shuts down after motherboard screen on startup

hi

For the past few days my pc has been shutting down right after the motherboard screen shows up at start up but when i turn the pc on for the second time it starts up normally with no problems. Does anyone know what could be causing this? as every time on the second attempt the pc starts up as normal.

thanks for the reply. here are the specs:

ntel core i5 4690k
msi radeon r9 270x hawk
MSI Z87-G43 Gaming motherboard
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8gb 2133 mhz (2 X 4gb)
Corsair CX600 watt 80 PLUS Bronze PSU

no the ram is not set up to 2133 although it use to be. i have latest mobo drivers but not bios. the bios is i believe 1 version behind and no i dont have another psu but im thinking of buying a better one though. i never had the problem until a week ago when it started. if any of these are causing the problem then why does it boot up completely fine on the second try and works as normal?

hmm okay. so you reckon i should buy a new psu? if thats causing it il buy a better one asap.

Hi, one thing i i forgot to say is that this started happening after i upgraded to windows 10 and got a new 28 inch monitor. could any of these be causing it?
