What to do? Upgrade PC and get an average laptop, or replace my PC with a strong laptop?

Hello! So the case is that I'd like to upgrade my hadware, but I'm not sure what to do. I currently have this:

Intel i3 550 @3,2 Ghz (1st generation)
A random Intel H55 motherboard
Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB 1600Mhz (it only runs on 1333 because of the CPU)
Shappire HD7770 OC V2 (tecnically an R7 250X)
250GB Samsung SSD + 1TB WesternDigital HDD

I currently have 2 FullHD displays and a Logitech C910 webcam.

I do kinda heavy video editing, and I'm trying to learn some VFX, but this config is not enough for it anymore.

I'd like to ask your recommendations:

Should I upgrade my PC itself and save some money to get an average laptop which I can only use for school, and you know things I might need to do while I'm not home, but obiviously I can't really do video editing on it.

OR

Completely replace all of these (expect the displays maybe, I'll see) with a really stong laptop which I can do my video editing anywhere, game a bit, and do things fine, but obiviously a laptop will never be as strong as a PC, and it is not so upgradeable. I was thinking about the Lenovo Y50-70 btw, but it's still a bit expensive.

I need a laptop, but I love my PC as well. On the other hand, I don't like heavy and big laptops, if I had the opportunity, I would buy an ultrabook, but I don't have the budget. It shouldn't be more than $900-$1000 for the laptop, even this is a bit much, but I hope my family would help me with it.

Any opinions? I'm afraid if I upgrade my PC, it' still not gonna be strong enough, and I'll have two shitty computers, but what if I can't get a good laptop for the price, and even my current PC would be better than that. I'm really a noob for laptops btw. I haven't had one yet.

(sorry for gramatical mistakes, I'm hungarian.)

EDIT: You might want to consider, that I'm living in a village, so I can't go home easily from the town to just do something on the computer.

What about getting a really sweet mini-ITX custom built PC and a chromebook for your mobile needs. It's just a suggestion, because imo PCs are better value than laptops unless you really need mobility and desktop is out of the question.

With a small form factor PC depending on which case, you can still use normal sized PSUs and up to 280mm-300mm length GPUs. It's also more portable than a traditional tower case if you dont have to carry the display too :p

For performance laptops I like the EUROCOM M5 Pro Gaming / EUROCOM Shark 4 though maybe someone else can recommend a better one for your budget.

Unfortunately Chromebooks aren't available here, and if they are, it's more expensive than a normal laptop so... I already have my lovely Nexus 5, which is perfect for emails and stuff, but I really need something I can save some files, like.. videos or pictures from a DSLR, and a mini-pc is not so useful for me, because usually I just go to the town, not so far away and obiviously I wouldn't carry it with me almost every day.

The real question here is whether I keep my PC or not. Is it worth keeping, or I can throw it out? If my predictions are correct, I wouldn't have the budget to have both useful. As I said, I think I'll have two shitty computers.

The EUROCOM laptops are really good though. I have no idea why I haven't heard of them.

Thanks for the answer by the way.
