Alright so a person offered to sell me a dell optiplex 990 for $50. The catch however it only has the cpu, motherboard, and power supply inside. The cpu is a cor i5-2400 and the motherboard has 2 ram slots, and 1 pci slot.I forgot the power supply wattage.
Should I buy this and add my own parts? I could always remove the cpu and only use that. My idea was to take the motherboard and cpu then put it inside a 750d case. Put 2x4 ram inside, a XFX Radeon R9 270X( I can get one for cheap), add an ssd, and possibly replace the power supply.
My questions:
Will the motherboard be compatible with a 750d?
Is an ssd possible?
Is my r9 270x compatible?
Should I replace the power supply?
What would you do?

Solution
It's not going to be easy. The sff board uses non-standard headers for the case connections, so I think you will have a problem getting it into a new case.

It's the sff version. And the OS doesn't matter because I have a windows 7 disc ready.

Instead of taking the board out could I buy some ram and a video card then call it a day?
