I've recently purchased the Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac motherboard, and figured that my Memory does not appear in the support list:
http://asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z170%20Gaming-ITXac/index.us.asp?cat=Memory
but then I saw that there are two BIOS updates, each with "Improved DRAM compatibility".
The question is: Is the support list updated with the last BIOS update? no version stated on the page? Where can I find which models are supported in the updates?

pls HELP
TIA.

What DRAM are you looking at (the model #), QVLs are simply the DRAM they've have available to test with. It doesn't rule out other DRAM. The Fatality should be fine with most any mainstream DDR4. Want to be sure you CPU can handle the data rate you choose, i.e. don't get 3000+ sticks with a non-K CPU :)

The problem is that the system won't start (turns on with no display)
my cpu is the i7-6700k and the memory:
Kingston HyperX SAVAGE DDR4 DIMM 16GB 2800MT/s (2x8GB) HX428C14SBK2/16
I'm asking because the question is if to buy a new memory module, or pay for a BIOS update, as I can't do it by myself with no other memory in hand.

I bought this RAM:
Corsair 32GB Kit 2x16GB 2666MHz CMK32GX4M2A2666C16

Then I thought I'd get the AsRock board, but that RAM is not currently on the compatibility list. I'm debating whether to risk it.

An update to my previous post: Just received an email from ASRock (I contacted them a few days ago), and they say the Corsair RAM boots fine:

"Thank you for contacting ASRock.
We test the CMK32GX4M2A2666C16 with BIOS P1.20 and it can boot properly."

Respect to ASRock for actually responding to my inquiry!
