I recently did a full reinstall of Windows 7 Home Premium on my PC desktop, and now I going through the endless process of trying to get all of my drivers back working....
I was under the impression that Windows would assist in this process, but I was sorely mistaken as every time I have allowed Windows to search for drivers it has taken FOREVER, just to come back with an error message.:kaola:
I am disturbed by this as these errors seem to be contradictory in that they say Device Working Properly, right after saying Drivers Not Found?? :??::??:
How can the device be working properly if there were no drivers found??
This has me confused and angry truthfully, and I would appreciate some explanation Please!!

Solution
go to your motherboards manufacturers site and download the drivers. for oem pcs I usually use slimdrivers, its free and usually works pretty well finding all your chipsetd rivers ,gpu drivers ,etc.
Windows has some general drivers for certain hardware already built into the OS. When the OS detects a new piece of hardware it will search the repository of drivers in the OS for a generic driver to get eh device working, although it could be in a limited fashion.

For drivers go directly to the hardware makers web site and search for the proper drivers there. I have never had windows search for a driver actually work.
