Hard Drive Making Weird Noise. Need help identifying what it is.

Hi guys

I am currently making a PC and need help with the harddrive. When I connect the HDD to the Sata and PSU and start up my PC my pc turns on however it is stuck on a black screen and the hard drive starts making a wierd noise. I recorded it and this is the sound. This is the sound.

I really need help here guys should I return the HDD is it broken or is it something else.

I can't get past the black screen its just black can't even get to bios.

Yes there is when I unplug the SATA cable from the HDD I can get to the bios.

Because the clicks are uniform, the issue may be a bad sector in the MBR area... it can't read past the allocated point. It sounds like the heads are looking for something. Did you check the MBR?

Try installing the drive as a slave (jumper settings?) -> see if it's recognized in the BIOS. If so, format it and check the MBR.
