Hard drive failure

Hello,

I am confused a little bit. If say my hard drive ever failed then do I have to buy another operating system or can I use the same one I used on my previous hard drive that failed?

Hi soincbests,

As long as you have the installation disk and valid Windows key you can install the operating system on a new hard drive without any problem.

Yes, absolutely.

The problem people have with re-using keys comes when they change out their motherboard. Windows keys are tied to the motherboard they are installed with, not the hard drive.
