Installed EVGA GeForce GTX 960 in Dell 8700 with i7 3770 processor, 24 G memory, windows 8.1 pro. Motherboard updated to latest BIOS ( 11, not 10). Using Dell ST 2420 monitor. On boot-up, I am getting a blank screen MOST of time. Have monitor on auto-select input, have used HDMI cable, DVI cable, analog cable. All with same results. Windows does boot, but monitor states " no input" found. Occasionally, with playing with input switch on monitor during boot-up, I can get screen. Any ideas???

Forgot to mention- installed 750 watt SENTEY model MBP750-HM power supply. Rig works fine with old video card.
Thanks again-

Go into the motherboard BIOS and then the chipset settings and find the PCIE settings and change the PCIE setting from AUTO to GEN 2. That how I fixed the black screen problem with my old sapphire r9 270 when I switched out an old fm2 motherboard for a socket 1150 motherboard to get an i5 put in and it wouldn't display.

After I put it to gen 2 I had no problems displaying.

Well i originally had an fm2 system with a GTX 650 then got a r9 270 then I upgraded my mobo and then got an i5. The R9 279 would not display unless I put it to gen2 which has no performance lose.

now I have GTX 970 with no display problems or bottleneck

these newer card are funny lots of threads on them thing just anit so plug and play anymore look at how many z68 guys had issues with new cards - I guess it the way it is anymore

you buy you try and hope it don't make you cry

its it lackluster v-bios support ? motherboard bios for new cards ? monitor compatibility ? you look around you see a few of these issues on them
