So I'm trying to decide what to upgrade my computer so that I'm able to better play video games, and just improve my computer in general. Someone suggested the GTX 960, and I currently have the AMD Radeon 6800. Would the upgrade be worth it? And if not is there something else I should upgrade instead. I currently run most games on medium, but sometimes have to go to low.
Also I have the AMD FX(tm)-8120 Eight-core processor and 8gb of RAM.

Its both. Nvidia is the maker of the GPU, Geforce is a branding of their gaming graphics cards, and gtx 960 is the model number.

Yeah fits in the same slot.

The 4GB isn't worth the extra $50 unless you are doing higher resolutions. However an R9 285/380 is better than the 960 especially at higher resolutions at the same price. So while there is a decent case to be made for the 960 based on power usage and overclocking, the Radeon will perform slightly better at 1080 and much more at higher resolutions. Don't bother with a 4GB 960 just get a R9 380, it offers better performance and 4GB of RAM for a similar price as a 2GB 960.
