I took apart my gtx 970 and need some help with some doubts

I took apart my gtx 970 today and when I took it apart and , stupidly, forgot about the thermal paste and I dont know if I can put it back as it is or I should buy some thermal compound??
I prefer not to buy more thermal compound because I'll have to order it and I prefer not waiting

P.S. I only have 90% denaturalized alcohol because its illegal in my country to sell isopropilic alcohol

P.P.S. Its it ok to touch the green part of the die with the alchol?

Patience my love, patience [read in Smeagol's voice]
Firstly, clean both surfaces thoroughly to a mirror finish...bare in mind that even a cheap perfume works!
Secondly, order some Arctic silver and wait...(I know, that's the hard part)
Thirdly, apply a pea-sized portion directly on the surface of the GPU and put everything back together.

You have no choice but order some new paste and wait. If you were to put it back together (with the old paste as it is) and started gaming, I have no doubt that it would run hot. Thank you, I manned up and cleaned the gpu dye, ITS PRECIOUSS. (read in Smeagol's voice LOL)
now I have to order a thermal compound , Is Artic Silver Alumia ok??
