Hi,
I'll be upgrading my PC in the next few days, getting the i7 5820k which supports up to 2133mhz ram. My question is, will it damage the ram or anything else in any way if I get say, 2400mhz ram or more and downclock it to 2133mhz? The reason for buying higher speed ram is the high probability of me upgrading the cpu in the future, but keeping the motherboard and ram to save some money in the longer run.
