If Dell send you a different version of the language that you ordered you should contact them and have them correct it...

Sorry this is not an answer...

I have Win 7 Professional
I have the same problem right now..and it's French. I have followed all the instructions but it always ends up with Francais as the main language with English under that..
Every instruction is in French, every suggestion.
I did exactly as you said, lukeTexas and ....Francais.

My network won't work until I get it changed. I don't want to return the laptop.
Any more ideas?

Thank you Phillip.
The new Dell laptop was just delivered yesterday and I am not sure I can get an edition of Win 7. They seem to arbitrarily send out PCs with whatever language is on them. They included a disk for 8.1 which I don't want.
Would a new English edition install right over the French version? l may have one on a disk from another computer, but don't know if that would be compatible with the new laptop.
I am in the US. Following the directions given above re: the Japanese language PC, I changed everything as described, but was not given a list of languages.
I appreciate any help offered.

If Dell send you a different version of the language that you ordered you should contact them and have them correct it. The only thing that may have happened is that during initial setup you selected the wrong language if they give you an option, or you ordered a grey market system from outside your region. I don't think I have ever seen a system sent over from a vendor with the wrong build on it for the country it's in.

You may be able to use a different Windows 7 disk to install over the one you have, but it may not activate with the code on the laptop.
