My Budget First PC Build - A Few Questions

This is going to be my first real pc build that wasn't mostly just an off the shelf unit. I would split my questions into a couple different threads, but I think it would be easier to just have it all in one area. I'm a guy who's into old machinery and the like (as you can see from my avatar image), and I'm about to get a steam whistle in trade from a friend for doing a Wordpress site for him. He made the whistle for me from scratch, so it's not costing him as much as the whistle is worth, so it's an easy trade for both of us. I'm going to sell the whistle as soon as I receive it, (I was going to keep it but I want a PC now) and used the money to do the computer. I'm using PC Part Picker in order to make it easy to organize and order the parts (as well as find some deals). Below I'll post the link for what I intend to use. A lot of parts like the ram and some peripherals I already have. I have a fairly crappy Gateway pc with the integrated E1-1200 and a Nvidia Gtx GT 610 I bought so I could watch a little HD video on the side. I got a couple sticks of 4gb 1600mhz ram for my birthday last year. This was before I knew jack about ram vs gpu vs cpu and all that. I've since had time to do a little reading and figure out how things work. :ange: I plan to use what I have to save some money (such as the ram) and put together a new tower. I'm still considering getting a console, but I use my pc more now than my Xbox 360 for most entertainment now. I want to use a AMD FX-6300 and a GTX 750 TI so I can do some gaming. I figured this would be the right balance of budget and performance to meet most of my needs for a little while. I might get a more expensive card like a GTX 960 or something in the future, but that's outside of my budget ($400 approximately) for now. I'll leave my questions and any below. Thanks!
TL;DR...

Questions:
1.) Based on the build link I have, is there any suggestions you think I should make to this build to save money, increase performance (within the budget), etc?
2.) I plan to use a GTX 750 TI from Gigabyte with 4GB of ram. It's not on the higher end of the 750 TI series, but I figured I could overclock it and have a card with more dedicated ram for the card to use. Would it be better to do this, or look for one with a generally better clock speed in all areas? It may seem obvious to you, but I'm still a bit of a novice. ;)

As long as you arent recording, you will have some great medium to high settings gameplay. The 860K is a little lacking, but is certainly better than its direct competition (Intel Pentium G3258). Overclock of you can though. Everything else looks good!

Looks OK. You wont be pushing games but you can definitely play em in low/medium. Only issue is power supply. The CX series is known to be bad. Swap it for a XFX, SeaSonic, non NEX EVGA SUPERNOVA, or an Antec Earthwatts (Delta Electronics). Those are all tier one or two supplies that are worth the extra spending!

You can also slightly OC a 750Ti for extra performance.

Your parts list with a higher quality power supply.

Thanks for the warning! :D
I started off this by watching a YouTube video about building a $300 gaming pc, and I started changing things until I figured it suited my needs. The only thing I DIDN'T change from the video was the power supply.

Alright, I added that to a modified version of the original list that I'll update for myself as people answer.
Thank you very much.

For about the same price you could upgrade to the NVidia GTX 950, Newegg had the EVGA NVidia GTX 950 FTW on sell yesterday for $139.99 a much better card for 1080p then the 750ti.

You will have to keep an eye out for sells as the NVidia GTX 950 goes on sell at various vendors quite often.

I've decided to go back through the build and scrap most of the original components I was going to use and instead go with this. It's a little better for the money, and takes me right within my budget range while keeping the same ballpark performance. Is there anything I should make adjustments for? Is the power supply of sufficient quality for the build?
Thanks!
