As the title says, I've been having quite the issue with my computer that I've been trying to solve the past 2 weeks but without success.

Whenever I boot up my PC and just play a game/keep it idle it freezes after less than 30 minutes. If I then try to start it up again it just takes the piss and won't boot but keeps the fans and LEDs running, but whenever I wait for more than 10 minutes, it boots up again but yet again; it freezes after a while. I've tried the RAM test (something like Ramtest86) and tried installing a new OS but without success because it'll just freeze during the process.

I've tried replacing my GPU which didn't work and nor did replacing my PSU with a better one, it's not monitor related and I'll add that it did work for about 5 months before this all happened, I can not remember any change at all to the computer apart from changing my OS a few days before it failed on me.

My PC specifications are as followed:
- ASRock 970 R2.0 motherboard
- FX-6300 black edition (I have overclocked it before to 4,2ghz but turning it off didn't solve anything.)
- 1x Corsair DDR3 8gb RAM
- MSI 960 4gb Gaming GPU
- Corsair CX600m PSU

Double check your CPU temp in the BIOS. make sure your not overheating and causing the freeze. If it is overheating that's an easy fix. I doubt it's heat related since most boards are defaulted to auto shutdown at 75'C or so.

Are you using an SSD. If so it could be a firmware issue. I'm suspecting the hard drive.

Hi,

If you have to wait 10 min, portably have defective hardware or overheating.

Since you already replace GPU and test with another PSU, assuming it was at least 500w.

Check your motherboard for blown up capacitor.
Did you test in safe mode to see the problem happens again.
Try to install hard disk sentinel trial from website to see if the drive is healthy.
You might also want to run a chkdsk on the drive for windows errors or corruption.

What your antivirus ?
is your computer free of malware.
To be sure goto bleepingcomputer.com and download run jrt ==> rogue killer ==> adwcleaner ==> reboot run malware byte (of course if the computer doesn't shut down)
