So I have been looking through the forums for help but no one seems to have the exact problem I have. So my problem is that I have 8 gigabytes of ram in my self built computer but windows and other programs say (3.97 usable). it has been saying this since day one. so i reseated them in the other 2 slots (2 and 4) and it says the same thing. So i even went and reseated my CPU like others suggested but same thing. and if i go to hardware monitor is says 4126 MB hardware reserved. I have had the computer for quite some time and the friend who helped me build it said that he had never seen this before but that it should not be a problem except that it has with certain newer games that need more ram.
I have windows 7 64-bit. Proccessor: AMD FX-4100 Quad-Core. PS: my conclusion is that i need to either buy more ram or buy a new mother board(which would really suck to have to reinstall a new motherboard).
